The Game of Humans

Written by: The Devs

(Playtested by souls of all ages and snack preferences)

Once upon always, and never too late,

You pressed “START” on a planet called Earth—how great!

You spawned as a baby, with toes and a name,

But guess what, young Player? This life is a game.

It’s not a game with controllers and scores,

It’s full of adventures, lessons, puzzles, and doors.

Some doors are scary, some hide a delight,

Some open with kindness, some only with might.

You got a cool Avatar—yep, that’s you!

With freckles, or glasses, or one crooked tooth.

You didn’t pick where or your name or your nose,

But you did choose this game and how far it goes.

Your mission is simple: learn how to love.

Not just your best friend or the moon up above.

But love when it’s painful, unfair, or unkind—

Like someone who left you or messed with your mind.

Love isn’t “be quiet” or shrinking down small,

It’s not saying “okay” when you don’t feel that at all.

It’s making space, even letting some go—

You can love from afar and still let them know.

You come with some strengths and a few things to learn,

Some talents you’re born with, and some you still earn.

You might be great talking—or better with bugs,

Or quiet and kind and just really love hugs.

You’ll also have flaws—yes, even the best.

Like melting down loudly or missing a quest.

But skills aren’t forever—they grow and they bend,

And some may get weaker… then stronger again.

You’ll find power-ups hidden in all kinds of stuff—

Like kindness and patience and saying “Enough!”

You’ll earn golden tokens when you help a friend,

And XP from giggles that don’t want to end.

You’ll earn little tokens for laughing out loud,

And for standing up tall when you’re lost in the crowd.

Each moment you choose to be kind, brave, or true—

You level up stronger (and feel better too).

But beware of the Shadow Bars—they’re no fun.

They cover your light like a cloud blocks the sun.

They whisper mean things that just aren’t true,

Like “You’re not enough” or “No one likes you.”

You’ve got a Soul Team—they’re strange and they’re true.

Some stick like glue, and some challenge you too.

They might bring you snacks or push all your buttons,

But they’re here for your growth—for games or discussions.

Then come the Boss Battles—your Soul Team in disguise,

They challenge your heart with frustration (and sighs).

They trigger your doubt so your strength can appear—

Like mentors who teach you by kicking your rear.

Sometimes you’ll win, and sometimes you’ll trip,

Sometimes emotions will short-circuit your chip.

That’s okay, Player—just hit ‘try again,’

Every stumble’s a lesson, not where things end.

The game has upgrades, and patches, and quests,

From hugging a friend to October Fest.

You might paint a rainbow or dance in the rain—

These mini-games count, so play them again!

As you level up, you see through the fog,

And spot all the stories, the lies, and the smog.

You notice that people are players like you—

All doing their best with the clues that they knew.

When someone throws anger or acts kinda wild,

Try seeing them gently—like you would a child.

They’re guarding their hearts, the best they know how,

Still learning their way through the mess of right now.

You can nod at their hurt and still walk away,

Say, “I see you’re in pain—I won’t join it today.”

You don’t have to fight just because they do,

Your peace is a power that ripples on through.

You’ll hear mean words said, and feel kinda small,

But most of those words aren’t about you at all.

They’re echoes of doubt from someone in pain—

Just part of their quest, like tears in the rain.

You’ll help other players, and sometimes feel stuck,

But you’ll find your way back—just don’t give up.

Follow your laughter, your light, and your art,

And when you feel lost, listen in to your heart.

So dance like you mean it, be weird, and be bright,

Help others with quests, and turn on your light.

The Game of Humans is wild, weird, and true—

And it’s better with Players exactly like you.

So press PLAY, little Player, and leap in with cheer,

You’re braver and brighter than you even appear.

You’re learning, you’re growing, you’re part of the plan—

You’re doing just fine. You’re truly quite grand!
