You’re thinking about someone you haven’t talked to in months.
No particular reason. Just… they came to mind.
Two hours later, they text you.
Or:
You finally decide you’re done with a toxic pattern. You set a clear boundary internally—not even out loud, just a shift in your energy.
Within days, the person embodying that pattern either changes or exits your life entirely.

You’ve been stressed about money for weeks. Every day, more unexpected expenses. The car breaks down. The medical bill arrives. Your anxiety about money seems to be CREATING more money problems.
You’ve been told these are coincidences. Random chance. Confirmation bias.
Here’s what’s actually happening:
You’re experiencing the Law of Attraction—the principle that your dominant frequency magnetizes matching experiences, people, and circumstances into your reality.
This isn’t “The Secret” wishful thinking or vision board manifestation.
This is how frequency, focus, and the nervous system collaborate to shape what you experience.
What Is the Law of Attraction?
The Law of Attraction states that your dominant frequency—the combined signal of your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and nervous system state—magnetizes matching experiences into your reality.
Building on what we’ve already established:
Law #1 (Multiverse/Oneness): Everything is interconnected. Your energy affects the field.
Law #2 (Vibration): Everything vibrates at a specific frequency. Your frequency determines what you can perceive and access.
Law #3 (Attraction): Like frequencies attract. Your dominant frequency acts as a magnet, drawing matching frequencies toward you.
Think of it like tuning a radio:
You’re always broadcasting a signal (your frequency). That signal determines which stations you can receive. Want to access a different station? Change your frequency.
But here’s what most LOA teaching misses:
Attraction doesn’t work in isolation. There are actually seven variables that determine what you manifest. The Law of Attraction primarily operates through two of them:
- Frequency – What you’re vibrating at (Law #2)
- Focus – What your brain’s RAS is filtering for
But the other five variables matter just as much:
- Awareness – Do you know what you actually want?
- Belief – Does your nervous system believe it’s possible/safe?
- Action – Are you taking aligned steps?
- Environment – Does your context support or sabotage it?
- Timing – Are you working with natural rhythms or forcing?
Try to manifest with just Frequency and Focus while the other five are misaligned? You’ll get inconsistent results—which is exactly why most LOA teaching fails.

This post focuses on the two variables most directly related to attraction: Frequency and Focus. But understand that real manifestation requires all seven working together.

How You Know It’s Real: Recognition Moments
You’ve Noticed What You Focus On Multiplies
You’re thinking about buying a specific car. Suddenly you see that model everywhere.
You learn a new word. Now it shows up in three different conversations.
You decide you’re looking for evidence that “people are kind.” Suddenly strangers are helping you, smiling, holding doors.
That’s not coincidence. That’s your Reticular Activating System (RAS) at work.
Your brain processes 11 million bits of information per second. You’re consciously aware of about 40.
Your RAS decides which 40 you notice based on what you’ve told it is important.
When you focus on something—a car, a word, kindness, problems, threats—your brain starts filtering reality to show you more of that thing.
The car was always there. The kindness was always available. You just couldn’t see it until you tuned your frequency (focus) to match.
You’ve Felt a Shift and Watched Reality Reorganize
You make a real decision—not a “I should” or “I’ll try,” but a genuine internal shift.
And suddenly:
- The job offer appears
- The relationship ends or transforms
- The solution becomes obvious
- The obstacle removes itself
You didn’t “manifest” these things through visualization.
You changed your frequency, which changed what you were magnetizing.
When your frequency shifts, the field responds. Opportunities that were always there become visible. People pick up on your new signal and respond differently. Your actions change because your internal state changed.
Reality didn’t change. Your frequency did. So reality reorganized around your new signal.
You’ve Been Stuck in a Loop
Same problem, different person.
Same drama, different job.
Same financial crisis, different circumstance.
You swear you’re trying to change. You’re working on yourself. You’re aware of the pattern.
But the pattern keeps showing up.
That’s also the Law of Attraction.
If your nervous system is stuck in a trauma response, if your subconscious beliefs haven’t shifted, if your frequency is still broadcasting “I’m not safe / I’m not enough / I can’t have this”—you’re going to keep magnetizing evidence that confirms it.
Not because the universe hates you.
Because your frequency is the search query, and reality is showing you matching results.
How the Law Works: The Mechanics of Attraction
1. Frequency Determines Availability
From Law #2 (Vibration), we know: Everything vibrates at a specific frequency.
The Law of Attraction adds: You can only perceive and attract frequencies you’re vibrating near.
If you’re vibrating at fear, you can’t access the opportunities that exist at the frequency of trust. They’re on a different station. You’re not tuned in.
It’s like trying to listen to FM 98.5 while your radio is tuned to AM 1020.
The station exists. The music is playing. You just can’t hear it from where you are.
2. Focus Activates the RAS Filter
Your Reticular Activating System (RAS) is the brain’s attention filter.
It scans the 11 million bits of incoming information and highlights the 40 bits that match what you’ve told it matters.

When you focus on:
- Problems → Your RAS shows you more problems
- Opportunities → Your RAS shows you more opportunities
- Evidence you’re failing → Your RAS confirms it
- Evidence you’re growing → Your RAS validates it
This is neuroscience, not woo.
The challenge: Your RAS doesn’t distinguish between “I want this” and “I’m afraid of this.” It just highlights whatever gets emotional charge.
So if you’re constantly thinking “I don’t want to be broke” → Your RAS highlights evidence of scarcity.
“I don’t want to be alone” → Your RAS shows you all the ways you’re isolated.
The frequency you’re vibrating at (fear of lack) determines what your RAS filters for (evidence of lack).
3. Resonance: Like Frequencies Amplify Each Other
From physics, we know: Objects vibrate sympathetically with matching frequencies.
Applied to life:
When you’re vibrating at a specific frequency, you:
- Notice people vibrating at that frequency
- Attract circumstances that match that frequency
- Amplify that frequency through repeated exposure
High-frequency example: You’re genuinely grateful (not performing gratitude, actually feeling it). You start noticing more things to be grateful for. You attract people who appreciate you. Your gratitude deepens. The loop reinforces itself.
Low-frequency example: You’re resentful. You notice more things that feel unfair. You attract people who validate your grievances. Your resentment intensifies. The loop reinforces itself.
Both are the Law of Attraction working perfectly.
The law doesn’t judge “good” or “bad” frequencies. It just matches like to like.

4. Nervous System State Determines Capacity
This is the part most LOA teaching ignores:
You can’t manifest from a dysregulated nervous system.
If your nervous system is in:
- Fight/flight → You’re scanning for threats, not opportunities
- Freeze → You’re numb, disconnected, can’t take action
- Fawn → You’re people-pleasing, can’t receive
Even if you’re “doing all the manifestation work”—visualizing, affirming, raising your vibe—if your nervous system is stuck in survival mode, you can’t hold the frequency of what you’re trying to attract.
This is why trauma survivors can’t just “think positive” their way out.
Their nervous system is broadcasting “UNSAFE” at a frequency louder than any affirmation.
Healing the nervous system isn’t optional for manifestation. It’s foundational.
The Law of Attraction Across Traditions
This isn’t New Age invention. This is ancient wisdom repackaged.
Buddhism: “What You Think, You Become”
“We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.” — The Dhammapada
Buddhism teaches that mind creates reality. Your dominant mental patterns shape your experience.
Karma is essentially the Law of Attraction over time—your actions (frequency) create consequences (matching results).
Hinduism: “As You Sow, So Shall You Reap”
The Bhagavad Gita teaches that your intentions and actions create your future reality.
“You have the right to work, but never to the fruit of work.” This isn’t about detachment—it’s about understanding that you control your frequency (action), not the outcome, but the outcome will match your frequency.
Christianity: “Ask and You Shall Receive”
Matthew 7:7 — “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.”
But there’s a condition: Faith. Belief. Which is another way of saying frequency alignment.
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24)
Belief = frequency. Prayer = focused intention. Faith = nervous system state of trust.
Hermeticism: “As Above, So Below”
The Kybalion explicitly teaches the Law of Attraction:
“Like attracts like.”
“The measure of the strength of the attraction is in the degree of the likeness.”
Hermetic philosophy understood that consciousness shapes reality, that thoughts are frequencies, and that matching frequencies attract.
Indigenous Wisdom: “What You Put Out, Comes Back”
Many Indigenous traditions teach:
- The Circle of Life — energy flows in cycles, what you give returns
- Honoring reciprocity — receive in proportion to what you offer
- Speaking things into being — words (frequency) create reality
Same principle. Different language.
Quantum Physics: The Observer Effect
At the quantum level, the act of measurement affects the system being measured.
The double-slit experiment shows that particles behave differently when observed vs. unobserved.
What this means is still debated. Some interpretations (like the Von Neumann-Wigner interpretation) suggest consciousness plays a role. Others attribute it to the physical interaction of measurement itself. The mechanism isn’t fully understood.
What IS clear: At the smallest scales physics can measure, the observer and the observed are not separate.
Whether this scales to human experience and macro-reality is philosophical territory, not settled science.
But the pattern is suggestive: Attention affects what becomes manifest.
Your focus (observation) influences what becomes real in your experience (outcome).
Neuroscience: Confirmation Bias and Neuroplasticity
Confirmation bias: The brain seeks evidence that confirms existing beliefs.
Neuroplasticity: The brain rewires based on repeated focus and experience.
Translation: Whatever you consistently focus on, your brain:
- Filters reality to show you more of it (confirmation bias)
- Physically rewires to make that focus stronger (neuroplasticity)
Your brain literally reshapes itself around your dominant frequency.
Different languages. Same mechanics.
The Law of Attraction isn’t wishful thinking. It’s observed reality, validated by:
- Ancient spiritual traditions
- Modern neuroscience
- Quantum physics
- Personal experience
Why You Can’t Skip the Law of Vibration
Law #2 (Vibration) must come before Law #3 (Attraction) for a reason:
You can’t attract what you’re not vibrating at.
Most LOA teaching fails because it skips straight to “focus on what you want” without addressing “Are you vibrating at the frequency of having it?”
Here’s the frequency gap:
- You can affirm “I am abundant” 1,000 times, but if your nervous system is vibrating at scarcity, you’re magnetizing more scarcity
- You can visualize perfect love, but if you’re vibrating at unworthiness, you’ll attract relationships that confirm unworthiness
- You can make vision boards about success, but if you’re vibrating at self-doubt, you’ll sabotage every opportunity
Why? Because the Law of Attraction responds to FREQUENCY, not intention.
Think of it this way:
Your conscious mind might say “I want wealth.”
But if your body is tense when you check your bank account…
And your breathing gets shallow when bills arrive…
And you make decisions from fear of loss…
Your FREQUENCY is broadcasting scarcity, not abundance.
And the Law of Attraction responds to the signal you’re actually broadcasting, not the one you wish you were broadcasting.
The process is:
- Law #2 (Vibration): Shift your frequency to match what you want (regulate nervous system, heal wounds, embody the frequency)
- Law #3 (Attraction): Your new frequency magnetizes matching experiences (opportunities appear, people respond differently, synchronicities happen)
Not:
- ~~Want something~~
- ~~Visualize it~~
- ~~Wait for it to appear~~
- ~~Wonder why it’s not working~~
That’s magical thinking. This is mechanics.
The Laws work as a system:
- Law #1 (Multiverse/Oneness): Your energy affects the field
- Law #2 (Vibration): Your frequency determines what you can access
- Law #3 (Attraction): Your frequency magnetizes matching experiences
You can’t cherry-pick. You can’t skip steps.
Before you work with attraction, you must work with vibration.
Otherwise you’re just hoping the universe ignores physics.
Why the Law of Attraction Gets Misunderstood
The Problem With “Just Think Positive”
Most LOA teaching says: Think positive thoughts, visualize what you want, and it will appear.
Why this fails:
- It ignores frequency. Thoughts alone don’t create. Frequency does. If your nervous system is broadcasting fear, your positive affirmations are background noise.
- It ignores action. Visualization without implementation is daydreaming. The universe responds to aligned action, not wishful thinking.
- It victim-blames. “You attracted your trauma” is spiritually abusive. Attraction works with patterns and frequency, not moral judgment.
- It oversimplifies complexity. Sometimes you’re doing everything “right” and life still throws curveballs. That’s not failure—that’s being human in a complex system.
Real LOA: Frequency + Focus + Action + Nervous System Regulation = Magnetic alignment with desired reality.
The Biggest Mistake: Ignoring the Law of Vibration
Most people trying to “use” the Law of Attraction make one critical error:
They focus on WHAT they want without matching the FREQUENCY of having it.
You can visualize wealth all day, but if your nervous system is vibrating at scarcity (checking your bank account anxiously, making decisions from fear of loss, feeling undeserving)—you’re not magnetizing wealth. You’re magnetizing more scarcity.
Remember Law #2 (Vibration): Everything has a frequency. You can only attract what you’re vibrating near.
Think of it like a radio: You can’t tune to 98.5 FM by setting your dial to AM 1020 and just thinking really hard about FM.
You have to actually change the frequency.
But here’s where it gets even more brutal:
Sometimes you DO attract what you asked for—but because your frequency is misaligned, one of three things happens:

1. You Attract the Distorted Version
You ask for “love” while vibrating at abandonment wounds.
So you attract someone who:
- Triggers every fear you have about being left
- Recreates the exact dynamic you’re trying to heal
- Confirms your unconscious belief that “love hurts”
You got love. Just not the frequency of love you consciously wanted—you got the frequency you were unconsciously broadcasting.
2. You Can’t Recognize It When It Arrives
You ask for “opportunity” while vibrating at unworthiness.
The opportunity shows up—the job offer, the connection, the open door.
But your RAS filters it out as “too good to be true” or “not for someone like me.”
It was there. You just couldn’t see it because your frequency wasn’t tuned to receive it.
3. You Sabotage It Immediately
You ask for “success” while vibrating at fear of visibility.
Success arrives. And your nervous system panics.
So you:
- Self-destruct right before the breakthrough
- Pick fights with people who are helping you
- Create chaos that destroys what you built
You attracted it. Then you destroyed it because your frequency couldn’t hold it.
This is why affirmations alone don’t work:
- Your words say “I am abundant”
- Your frequency says “I’m terrified of lack”
- The Law of Attraction responds to frequency, not words
This is why vision boards without embodiment fail:
- You’re looking at the image of what you want
- But you’re not BEING the frequency of someone who has it
- The universe responds to what you’re broadcasting, not what you’re looking at
This is why “fake it til you make it” backfires:
- Your conscious mind is performing confidence
- Your nervous system is screaming “I’M NOT SAFE”
- Your body’s frequency is louder than your performance
The Law of Attraction responds to your ACTUAL frequency, not your desired frequency.
So before you ask “Why isn’t this working?”, ask: “What frequency am I actually broadcasting right now?”
Not what you WANT to be broadcasting. What your body, nervous system, beliefs, and actions are ACTUALLY broadcasting.
And if what shows up feels triggering, distorted, or wrong—that’s feedback. That’s the universe showing you what frequency you’re ACTUALLY at, not the one you think you’re at.
Why “It’s Not Working”
If you’re “doing LOA” and nothing’s changing:
Check your actual frequency (not your thoughts):
- What does your nervous system believe is safe?
- What does your body feel is possible?
- What’s your baseline emotional state when you’re not performing positivity?
Check your focus:
- Are you focusing on what you want or what you’re afraid of?
- Is your RAS filtering for evidence of lack or evidence of abundance?
Check your action:
- Are you taking aligned action or just visualizing?
- Are you waiting for “signs” or creating opportunities?
Check your nervous system:
- Are you in a regulated state or survival mode?
- Have you healed the trauma that keeps you in low-frequency loops?
Most people are doing #1 and #2 (thoughts and visualization) while ignoring #3 and #4 (action and nervous system).
That’s why it doesn’t work.
What the Law of Attraction Is NOT
It’s NOT “Blame the Victim”
You did not attract your abuse, your illness, your trauma.
Bad things happen. Harm exists. Systems are unjust.
What you CAN control:
- How you respond (which frequency you choose after the event)
- Whether you stay stuck in the frequency of victimhood or shift toward agency
- What meaning you assign to the experience
You’re not responsible for what happened TO you. You ARE responsible for what you do FROM here.
It’s NOT Magic
The Law of Attraction doesn’t override:
- Physics (you can’t manifest flying)
- Other people’s free will (you can’t control their choices)
- Systemic oppression (frequency doesn’t erase racism, poverty, or injustice)
What it DOES:
- Filters your perception (changes what you notice)
- Affects your energy (changes how people respond to you)
- Guides your actions (changes what you create)
It’s influence, not omnipotence.
It’s NOT a Substitute for Action
You can’t just “vibe high” and expect reality to rearrange itself.
Frequency creates alignment with opportunities. You still have to walk through the door when it opens.
Think of it like this:
- Frequency = tuning the radio to the right station
- Focus = turning up the volume
- Action = actually listening and responding to what you hear
All three required.
It’s NOT Separate From Healing
If you’re trying to “manifest abundance” while your nervous system is screaming “I’M NOT SAFE”—you’re fighting against yourself.
Manifestation without healing is just spiritual bypassing.
You can’t hold a high frequency while unhealed trauma is broadcasting low-frequency signals from your body.
Healing IS manifestation work. When you regulate your nervous system, process trauma, and shift core beliefs, your frequency changes. And when your frequency changes, what you attract changes.
How to Participate Consciously With the Law of Attraction
Here’s the thing: The Law of Attraction is ALWAYS operating.
You don’t need to “activate” it. You can’t turn it off. It’s like gravity—always working whether you’re aware of it or not.
Right now, you’re attracting based on your frequency. The question isn’t “How do I use this law?” The question is: “Am I participating consciously or unconsciously?”
Unconscious participation: You’re broadcasting whatever frequency your unhealed trauma, unexamined beliefs, and dysregulated nervous system default to. You’re attracting matching experiences and wondering why the same patterns keep repeating.
Conscious participation: You become aware of what you’re broadcasting, regulate your frequency intentionally, and align your actions with the reality you want to magnetize.
These aren’t “manifestation techniques.” They’re awareness practices that help you see what you’re ALREADY attracting and shift it.
1. Regulate Your Frequency First (Law #2 Reminder)
From Law #2 (Vibration), we established: Everything vibrates at a specific frequency. Your frequency determines what you can perceive and access.
The Law of Attraction adds: You can only magnetize frequencies you’re actually vibrating at (or very near).
This is the mistake most people make:
They try to attract wealth while vibrating at scarcity.
They try to attract love while vibrating at unworthiness.
They try to attract peace while vibrating at anxiety.
It doesn’t work because frequencies don’t match.
You can’t skip this step. Before you focus on WHAT you want to attract, you must shift your frequency to MATCH what you want.
How to actually shift frequency (not just think about it):
Nervous system regulation:
- Somatic shaking/movement (releases trauma-stored low frequencies from the body)
- Breathwork (shifts autonomic state in minutes—try box breathing: 4 counts in, 4 hold, 4 out, 4 hold)
- Grounding (barefoot on earth reconnects to Schumann resonance—7.83 Hz—the frequency we evolved in sync with)
- Co-regulation (spend time with people already vibrating at your desired frequency—their nervous system helps regulate yours)
Embodiment practice (not visualization):
- Don’t visualize HAVING the thing. Embody the FREQUENCY of someone who has it.
- How would you move through your day? What decisions would you make? How would you handle stress?
- What would your baseline nervous system state be? (Calm? Confident? At ease?)
- Practice BEING that frequency now, not “when it arrives”
Example: Instead of visualizing “having money,” embody the frequency of financial ease:
- How does someone with financial ease breathe? (Deeply, not shallowly)
- How do they make purchasing decisions? (From trust, not fear)
- How do they talk about money? (Casually, not anxiously)
- Practice THAT. That’s the frequency you’re shifting to.
Frequency check-in throughout the day:
- Pause and ask: “What frequency am I broadcasting RIGHT NOW?”
- Not what you want to be. What you ACTUALLY are.
- Check your body: tension or ease? Check your breath: shallow or deep? Check your thoughts: scarcity or abundance?
- If it doesn’t match your desired reality, shift it before moving forward.
Remember: The Law of Attraction doesn’t respond to your wishlist. It responds to your vibration.
Before affirmations, before vision boards, before “manifesting”—shift your frequency. Otherwise you’re just hoping the universe ignores physics.
2. Get Clear on Frequency, Not Form
Don’t focus on the specific thing. Focus on the frequency of having it.
Instead of: “I want $10,000”
Try: “What would financial ease feel like? How would I move through my day if money wasn’t a concern?”
Instead of: “I want a relationship with [specific person]”
Try: “What would it feel like to be deeply loved and seen?”
The universe responds to frequency, not specifics.
When you align with the frequency, opportunities that MATCH that frequency appear—often in forms you didn’t expect.
3. Shift Your RAS Filter
Your brain is showing you evidence of whatever you’re focusing on.
Exercise: For one week, look for evidence of ONE thing:
- Kindness
- Opportunity
- Beauty
- Support
- Progress
Write down three examples daily.
Watch how your perception shifts. Watch how “coincidentally” more of that thing appears.
You’re not creating it. You’re noticing what was always there.
4. Take Aligned Action (Not Hustle)
Aligned action = action that FEELS like the frequency you’re trying to embody.
Hustle = forcing action from fear/scarcity.
Ask: Does this action feel like trust or control? Ease or force? Alignment or desperation?
The universe responds to the frequency of your action, not the quantity.
One aligned action > 100 desperate actions.
5. Practice Allowing
Most people are terrible at receiving.
They ask, align, take action… then when the opportunity appears, they:
- Doubt it (“This can’t be real”)
- Deflect it (“I don’t deserve this”)
- Overcomplicate it (“What’s the catch?”)
Allowing = letting yourself receive without sabotaging it.
When something good happens, say: “Yes. Thank you. I’m open to this.”
Not: “This is too good to be true. When will the other shoe drop?”
Why This Law Comes Third
Law #1 (Multiverse/Oneness) established: Everything is connected. Your energy affects the field.
Law #2 (Vibration) explained: Everything has frequency. Your frequency determines your experience.
Law #3 (Attraction) shows: Your frequency magnetizes matching experiences. This is HOW interconnection and vibration create your reality.
The next laws build on this:
- Law of Inspired Action: Attraction without action is incomplete
- Law of Cause and Effect: What you attract creates consequences
- Law of Compensation: The system balances what you give and receive
You can’t skip this one. Attraction is the mechanism connecting frequency to outcome.
The Test (Awareness, Not Activation)
You’re already attracting 24/7. This exercise helps you SEE it.
For the next 7 days, track what you’re broadcasting and what shows up:
Morning:
- What frequency am I broadcasting today? (Check: What does my body feel? What’s my baseline mood? What am I assuming about today?)
- If I were vibrating at [desired frequency], what would that feel like in my body right now?
- One aligned action I can take today that matches that frequency
Evening:
- What showed up today that matched my actual frequency (not the one I wanted)?
- What did I notice that I would have filtered out before?
- Did I take the aligned action? If not, what frequency was I actually at?
Write this down.
After 7 days, you’ll have data showing:
- Direct correlation between your actual frequency (not your intended one) and what appeared
- How your RAS filters reality based on your dominant focus
- Where your nervous system is stuck in loops
- The gap between what you SAY you want and what you’re actually magnetizing
This is uncomfortable because you can’t lie to yourself anymore.
The Law of Attraction doesn’t care about your affirmations or vision boards. It responds to your ACTUAL frequency—the one your body is broadcasting, not the one your mind wishes it was.
Final Thoughts
The Law of Attraction isn’t something you “do.” It’s something that’s always happening.
Like gravity: You don’t need exercises to “connect with” gravity. It’s always pulling. You just need to understand how it works so you can build planes, use parachutes, or at minimum not fight against it.
Like LOA: You don’t need to “activate” attraction. Your frequency is always magnetizing. You just need to understand what you’re actually broadcasting (not what you think you’re broadcasting) so you can shift it.
The law doesn’t care about:
- Your affirmations
- Your vision boards
- Your positive thinking
- Your good intentions
The law responds to:
- Your actual frequency (what your nervous system is broadcasting)
- Your dominant focus (what your RAS is filtering for)
- Your aligned action (what you’re actually doing)
- Your capacity to receive (what your system believes is safe)
When these four align, reality reorganizes itself around your signal.
Not because you’re manifesting. Because that’s how the system works.
You’re not learning to attract. You’re learning to broadcast consciously.
